Recap: All Things Soompi @ KCON LA

As we are all recovering from that post-concert slump, we thought a little reliving of #KCON15LA was in order.

Did you make it to the convention and stop by the Soompi booth? We had a lot going on, so just in case you missed anything – here’s what went down!

Selfie Corner + Endless Giveaways:

When our booth wasn’t hosting meet and greets or K-beauty takeovers, we had a lot of exciting activities including:

If I were in a K-pop band challenge: We challenged KCON attendees with our previously viral challenge and the first word they saw was their destiny (no pressure though). They even got a sticker to show off their K-pop idol roles!

Fanart contest: We looooove when fans create even more content to supplement K-entertainment, so hosting a fanart station is a no-brainer every year. Thanks to the artists who stopped by!

Selfie corner: With our adorable K-entertainment-inspired polaroid frame, we invited attendees to take pictures alone or with their squad in the Soompi booth. Above are some of our favorites~

Giveaways: We love free stuff, you (most likely) love free stuff, everyone loves free stuff! To celebrate this universal love, we held raffles and flash giveaways all weekend for special items like signed GOT7 CDs, exclusive B2ST figurines, and other signed goodies.

Viki: We invited our friends from Viki to chill at our booth for the weekend, and you can bet they didn’t come empty-handed! With swag bags and signed 2NE1 t-shirts, Viki brought more fun for KCON attendees and helped us out a ton at our booth. Thanks Viki~

Meet and Greets: 

We were fortunate enough to have two top Youtubers stop by our booth and meet their fans while also interviewing with us!

You may have heard of them, Jun Sung Ahn and JRE! Despite having their own packed Meet & Greets in panel rooms, they also wanted to spend a little more time with their fans so they scheduled time to take photos with all of the fans who made it out to KCON. (And, believe me, there were a lot of fans – the lines got pretty long but shout-out to everyone for being really patient with us!) Did you manage to meet them?

Soompi Industry Panel: 

Have you ever wondered what life is like when you work in the U.S. K-entertainment industry?

knims, benightedxflame, KisforKARENx3, and Sylphid decided to host a panel to be a tell-all about life as a member of Team Soompi – from hilarious behind-the-scenes stories to the not-so-glamorous aspects. We also gave out some fun prizes courtesy of Memebox along with some Soompi swag!

What burning questions do you have for Soompi staff? 

Memebox “Make”over:

On the last day of the convention, we wanted to mix things up so we invited our friends from Memebox to stop by and stage a takeover of the Soompi booth. Since Memebox is a makeup brand, the theme of the takeover was “make-over,” and of course featured a ton of free Korean beauty goodies!
Memebox also invited some top Korean beauty vloggers to the booth to take selfies with fans. Morgan, Sunny, Liah, and Soyoung were all there giving beauty tips and snapping flawless selfies with all the beautiful KCON attendees. The crowd was wild!

After KCON in LA, we also had CallMeN00NA hit up KCON NYC, handing out GOT7 CDs and Soompi swag while generally having a blast with our East Coast readers~ Were you lucky enough to spot her?
