"Assassination" Stars Jun Ji Hyun, Lee Jung Jae, and More Thank Audience for 10 Million Ticket Sales
As of August 15, the hit film “Assassination” has surpassed the 10 million mark in ticket sales!
The film stars Jun Ji Hyun, Lee Jung Jae, and Ha Jung Woo as a trio of assassins who are plotting to take out a Japanese colonial official. It takes place in Korea in the 1930s, during the period of Japanese colonization, and so it’s fitting that the film would meet this mark on August 15, Korea’s National Liberation Day.
Photos have been shared of stars Jun Ji Hyun, Jo Jin Woong and Oh Dal Soo holding up signs to thank the audience for the success of the film. Lee Jung Jae, Ha Jung Woo, and other members of the cast are also seen sitting around a cake with director Choi Dong Hoon as they hold up ten fingers to celebrate!
Jun Ji Hyun’s message reads, “‘Assassination,’ ten million!!!!!!!!! I’m so happy~ Thank you. I really, really love you. (This is just the start!! Fighting!!)”
Director Choi Dong Hoon has also said, “I send my deep thanks to all the audience members who have loved ‘Assassination.’ It’s a work that was both a personal challenge for me as well as something I’d wanted to create for a very long time. I’m very happy that we were able to communicate in such a meaningful way with the audience.”
