2EYES Faces Potential Legal Trouble for Comeback Concept

Girl group 2EYES has released a statement in response to reports about a potential legal conflict arising from their comeback concept.

On September 2, 2EYES’ management agency SidusHQ confirmed that they had received a contents certification mail, basically a mail that implies potential legal conflict and makes the post office a third-party witness of communication between two parties in the case of such conflict.

“It is true that we have received a contents certification mail [of the complaint document] from a Swedish company named Saltkråkan. The reason is that we borrowed the Pippi [Longstocking] concept,” Sidus HQ commented. “Currently our legal team is contemplating on what to do about the contents certification mail. We plan to decide whether to change [2EYES’] concept or discuss licensing with [the company] after consulting our legal team.

Meanwhile, 2EYES made a comeback on August 24 with “PIPPI,” which they have already been promoting on music shows. The concept for the song riffs on the fictional character Pippi Longstocking from the children’s book series written by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren.
