“Superstar K7” Apologizes for Sound Editing Mistake
There was a broadcasting accident on cable channel Mnet’s “Superstar K7” which aired on September 10.
The music cut out during participants Kim Bo Ra and Hyun Jin Ju’s performances and participant Kevin Oh’s song abruptly stopped in the middle his performance. Also, one of the judges Baek Ji Young’s encouraging feedback was muted. Even the preview for next week’s episode did not have any narration.
About the incident, the “Superstar K7” crew released an official apology saying, “There was a broadcasting accident during the airing of episode four of Mnet’s ‘Superstar K7.’ Following “Super Week” and because of meshing editing schedules, the show aired without sound effects toward the last part of the broadcast.” Furthermore, the crew added, “We apologize for what happened. We’ll do our best to prevent future recurrence. We fixed the problem and the reruns of the show have been aired normally.”
The netizens responded with various reactions including shock, criticisms, and empathy for the exhausted production crew.
“Superstar K7” airs on Thursdays at 11 p.m.
