JYP Tried to Keep Wonder Girls' Yubin From Joining "Unpretty Rapstar 2"?

Wonder Girls member and “Unpretty Rapstar 2” contestant Yubin expressed her confidence in her rapping skills despite pushback.

On the September 11 broadcast of Mnet‘s female rapper survival competition, all eleven contestants gathered together and through their individual cyphers communicated their unique style and aspirations.

During the show, Yubin revealed her motivations for joining the show, “[On the Internet] there are more comments saying that I’m bad a rapping than not. Because there is a limit on what I can do as part of Wonder Girls, I wanted to challenge myself.”

She continued, “I was the one that said I wanted to participate [in ‘Unpretty Rapstar’] first. Producer Park Jin Young kept trying until the end to convince me otherwise, but I told him to trust me.”
