Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan Makes Precious Memories With Elderly Dog Goguma on "I Live Alone"

On September 11’s episode of “I Live Alone,” Shinhwa‘s Kim Dong Wan goes on a trip with his beloved dog Goguma.

Goguma is now 12 years old, and Kim Dong Wan points out in his interview that that means he’s 84 in human years! He says that Goguma doesn’t eat very much due to jaw pain lately, and he’s had to leave him with his mother a lot due to his busy schedule. So to spend some precious time with Goguma, he’s decided to take him on a trip.

While they’re at their rented holiday home in the woods, Kim Dong Wan plays with Goguma and takes lots of cute photos with him, but he’s worried because Goguma is much slower than the other dogs there and seems lethargic. He says, “They say that the life expectancy of a dog is 15 years, and that’s if it lives for a long time. Goguma is a bit sick too, so since I don’t know when I’ll have to say goodbye to him, I think I should play with him a lot.”

Kim Dong Wan grills up some meat and then shares it with Goguma. He sends a photo of Goguma to Jeon Hyun Moo, who says, “I really sympathize with you when you say he only sleeps. Our Ddoddo also just sleeps and doesn’t each much. It’s to the point that I feel grateful when he drinks water.”

Kim Dong Wan then takes out his camera and films a video message to Goguma, who’s lying next to him. “Goguma, it’s been twelve years now since we first met,” he says. “I didn’t know you’d become a grandfather like this. You’re very sick, and you don’t eat much. I hope you get better soon and eat more so that you can live just a bit longer.”

He tears up as he says, “Just ten years. I hope you’ll see me get married and have kids. Got it? You have to live for a long time.”
