Super Junior’s Yesung Says He’s Having Fun Filming His First Drama
We can now get a sneak peek at the acting debut of Super Junior‘s Yesung, thanks to some new stills!
Yesung is currently filming the JTBC miniseries “Awl” (working title), which is based on a web comic of the same name. It’s the story of employees at a supermarket whose ordinary lives are changed by a huge event. Yesung plays Hwang Joon Chul, the worker in charge of the seafood section at the supermarket who suffers because of discrimination.
Yesung says, “It’s an honor to be a part of this work that is based on such a great web comic, despite the fact that this is my first time acting. I was very nervous before we started filming, but the atmosphere on set is so great that I’ve been having a good time filming everyday.”
“I want to show everyone a story that they can relate to through the character of Hwang Joon Chul, who’s the kind of person we see often around us,” he adds. “I’m trying my best so I hope that you give me a lot of support.”
Yesung is acting alongside Ji Hyun Woo, Park Si Hwan, Ahn Nae Sang, and Hyun Woo in “Awl,” which is slated to premiere this October.
Yesung is currently promoting Super Junior’s latest track, “Magic,” which was released on September 16.
