Star Empire to Take Legal Action Against Illegal and Offensive Usage of Kyungri's Picture
Star Empire has released an official statement to declare that they are going to press charges against the student group that used an image of Nine Muses‘ Kyungri in an incredibly inappropriate and offensive poster.
Previously, the computer engineering major at Kunsan National University released a promotional poster for their fundraising event that used an image of Kyungri accompanied by various sexual taglines. Fans and online communities have since actively spoken out against the poster and the inappropriate comments written on the poster.
In their official statement, Star Empire said, “We will be pressing charges for defamation and violation of portrait rights against the individuals responsible for creating this poster. Star Empire will make it our priority to continue to take firm legal actions against acts of defamation both offline and online for our artists in the future.”
Since the controversy, the student union group at Kunsan National University has published an apology via their Facebook page.
