SM Entertainment to Take Action Against Scalping of Tickets for Upcoming Solo Concerts
In response to reports that tickets for Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation‘s upcoming solo concert are being resold at exorbitant prices, SM Entertainment has promised to take action against ticket scalping.
Taeyeon’s first-ever solo concert series, entitled “Taeyeon’s Very Special Day,” will be held at SMTOWN Theatre from October 23 to 25, and then October 30 to November 1. As expected, tickets were snapped up incredibly fast when they went on sale on September 23, and all 3,600 seats sold out completely within ten minutes!
Scalpers are now taking advantage of fans who are desperate to get a seat for the show by selling tickets at huge markups. Tickets for SHINee member Jonghyun‘s October solo concerts are also selling at higher prices on resale sites, and we’ll most likely be seeing more of the same soon when Super Junior member Kyuhyun‘s solo concert tickets go on sale.
On September 25, SM Entertainment stated, “We have confirmed that tickets for Taeyeon’s concert are selling at elevated prices.” They warn that any tickets for SM artist concerts that are reported with evidence to have been sold for unfair profits will be cancelled. “We are taking steps to reduce the damages to consumers,” they write.
