A Pink's Bomi Takes Over Her Parents' Supermarket to Let Them Rest
On the Chuseok special of “Great Expectations” on September 28, A Pink‘s Bomi took over her parents’ supermarket so that they could get some rest.
She manages the store on her own until she calls her younger brother for help. After she sells a box of grapes for the first time by herself, she exclaims, “This is exciting!”
When the grapes aren’t selling after the first customer, Bomi gives samples to the customers and persuades them to buy some.
Finally, after heading to the next-door shop and selling to people there, Bomi manages to sell another box of grapes.
In the end, Bomi succeeds in selling all of the boxed grapes. After her mom comes back from her break, Bomi tells her, “Mom I sold all the grapes.” In celebration, the two go out to eat to have some mother-daughter time.
During the show, Bomi finds out that her mother has been through some rough times and even had depression, later saying, “Our mom never cried in front of us. Even when she was tired, she would only say ‘My leg hurts’ or ‘I’m tired.’ This was the first time my mom told me about hard times she had in the past, so I think today’s the first time I understood how she felt.”
Meanwhile, “Great Expectations” is a program where the parents teach their kids about their work. They then strive to experience and understand each other’s lives and build better relationships.
