iKON Tops Charts in 11 Countries With Title Song

iKON is the hottest issue in the K-pop scene right now, and their new half album is receiving love from 11 countries.

The group’s half album “WELCOME BACK,” which was released on October 1, topped iTunes Charts in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Panama, Peru, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. They even reached 24th place in Canada and 26th in the United States.

Their title song “RHYTHM TA” is first place on Genie, Olleh, Naver, and Sori Bada (at the time this article was written). Even their double title track “AIRPLANE,” and other listed songs such as “Today,” “WELCOME BACK,” “M.U.P,” and “MY TYPE” are in the top 10.

“RHYTHM TA” is a groovy hip-hop song that is 180 degrees different from their previous song “MY TYPE,” which is soft and sweet. The repetition of the lyrics “RHYTHM TA” makes the song addicting and easy to catch on to.

Their music videos are also receiving a lot of attention. Based on October 1 at 12 p.m. KST, “RHYTHM TA” has received 660,585 views and “AIRPLANE” has received 558,718 views, adding up to 1,219,303 views in total. These numbers will surely grow exponentially in the hours and days to come. In the music video for “RHYTHM TA,” the members can be seen fierce and free with impressive visuals. In “AIRPLANE,” B.I and BOBBY show off their acting skills in an overall poetic and sweet picture.

Meanwhile, iKON held “OPENING CEREMONY” through Naver’s V App on September 30 before the release of their songs.

“’RHYTHM TA’ is a fierce song with a strong beat. I hope you are excited for it. From our half album to our full album in November, we have a lot in store,” they say.

Meanwhile iKON will be releasing “DEBUT FULL ALBUM:WELCOME BACK” November 2 and holding their debut concert “SHOWTIME” on October 3.
