Netizens Enraged at Mnet for Misleading Editing of FIESTAR's Yezi in "Unpretty Rapstar 2"

FIESTAR‘s Yezi has been gaining attention through “Unpretty Rapstar 2,” and the reason behind her not being able to understand what people are saying well has been revealed through a behind-the-scenes clip.

On October 1, Mnet released an interview clip of Yezi that was taken before the first recording of “Unpretty Rapstar 2.”

In the video, Yezi says she’s determined to break the idol stereotype and get acknowledged as a rapper.

When Yezi starts asking the staff to repeat a question several times, she explains, “My hearing is not that good.”

What is important here is that Yezi has been getting a lot of negative response from viewers due to her making others repeat the same thing over and over.

Netizens are now enraged at Mnet for not showing this clip initially even though the staff had it, thus making the viewers misunderstand and pushing Yezi toward a certain image. This is commonly referred to in Korea as “devil’s editing.”

According to reports, this is not the first time Mnet has edited their shows this way. There have been times where Mnet put different cuts together to provoke and gain interest from viewers.
