YG's Yang Hyun Suk Addresses Rumors That He Favors iKON Over BIGBANG and WINNER

YG Entertainment‘s CEO Yang Hyun Suk addressed rumors that he favors rookie group iKON over the other groups in his agency.

On October 3, Yang Hyun Suk met with local media Newsen after iKON’s debut concert, “SHOWTIME.”

During the interview, Yang Hyuk Suk addressed the rumors, saying, “We just focus on what we are working on at the moment. The opinion that I favor iKON is a complete misunderstanding.” He then said, “When WINNER makes a comeback, there will be talk that I favor WINNER. Just wait until WINNER’s [new album] comes out. I would like to say that when WINNER comes back, I will promote them to the point that people will say that I favor WINNER.”

Yang Hyun Suk added, “Actually, during BIGBANG‘s [album promotions], we basically favored BIGBANG for four months. We didn’t do anything else. The speculation that BIGBANG’s ‘MADE’ album that was slated to be released on September 1 was pushed back because of iKON is completely untrue. The BIGBANG members know that, too. They wanted to add another new song [to the album], but they haven’t been able to write it yet. The rumor that BIGBANG’s album is delayed because of iKON doesn’t even make sense. It’s not like BIGBANG can’t promote because iKON is promoting. Everything is a misunderstanding.”

Meanwhile, iKON recently released their debut half album “WELCOME BACK” and made their music show debut on SBS‘s “Inkigayo” on October 4.
