Male Ballad Singers Kick Off the Autumn Music Scene

The past few months have seen jam-packed performances by powerhouses such as Girls’ Generation and SISTAR as well as monster rookies MAMAMOO and GFRIEND in what can be called “the summer of girl groups.” In addition, the “2015 Infinity Challenge Music Festival” swept the charts with fresh, fast-paced music in honor of the show’s 10-year anniversary.

As the last of the summer heat fades away, the music charts are also feeling the winds of change.  The next couple months will feature many comebacks by male vocalists such as veteran singer Lim Chang Jung, who recently released his first mini-album “Love Again” and the song of the same title. Im Jae Bum, another veteran singer, released a remake with Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon in his duet “Scars Deeper Than Love.”

The male duo Fly to the Sky returned with their own mini-album, “Love and Hate” with double title tracks “It Happens to Be That Way” and “If I Have to Hate You,” while Homme, another male duo, released the R&B ballad “Don’t Cry.”

“Don’t Cry” is a song about a man trying to hide his sadness in the face of a breakup and features the strong vocals and harmonies of Lee Chang Min and Lee Hyun. The duo are also planning a concert, HOMMEXIT, at the Seoul Baekam Art Hall from October 9 to 11.

To complete the list, singers Shin Seung Hoon and Kim Junsu of JYJ are planning to release new music soon.
