Park Ip Sun Says Marriage With Song Jong Kook Went Downhill After "Dad, Where Are We Going?" Ended

Entertainer Park Ip Sun has opened up about her decision to get a divorce with former national soccer player Song Jong Kook.

Park Ip Sun told Sports Chosun in an exclusive interview on October 6, “We couldn’t have been happier until ‘Dad, Where Are We Going?’ ended. We were just like how we were shown on the show. We started having issues in our relationship after the show ended about two years ago.”

On her decision to get a divorce, she said, “We both tried really hard. Ji Ah‘s dad did the same, but I wrote letters, waited aimlessly, but we ended up living separately.”

She admitted, “It’s true that once you are physically apart, your hearts become more distant as well. During the last two years, I maybe saw him twice at home, and even then, I tried to avoid him.”

She also voiced her concern for rumors spreading about the private matter. “I’m afraid that the public will become too interested in our divorce. Marriage is such a personal matter, and I don’t want us to become the source of gossip to the public.”

She further asked news outlets to not publish any speculative articles about the divorce. “The kids are grown up now, so they know how to use the internet. What happens in a marriage is private to the couple.”

Park Ip Sun will have full custody of their two children.
