Girls' Generation's Sunny Denies Playful Accusation of Sajaegi on "Serial Shopping Family"

On October 7’s episode of “Serial Shopping Family,” it’s revealed that Girls’ Generation member Sunny bought 30 copies of the group’s latest album, with 20 copies of the “Lion Heart” version and 10 copies of “You Think.”

When the other hosts see her receipt, they’re shocked and ask Sunny if she hasn’t committed sajaegi. Sajaegi is a term for the manipulation of music charts, and has been a hot topic these days.

“When our new albums come out, I get a lot of requests for signed copies,” explains Sunny. “My father’s in the Middle East, and he says that K-pop is huge there right now. So he’s asked me for a lot of signed albums.”

“If I ask my company for albums, they give me exactly ten copies,” she adds. “I pay for these ones with my own money.”

Park Myung Soo then asks if Sunny’s dad brags about having her for his daughter, and Sunny replies, “He’s famous as being ‘Sunny’s father.'”
