Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk Write Heartfelt Letters to Fans From Boot Camp

Recently, two letters were revealed from Super Junior members Donghae and Eunhyuk, updating fans about their army lives!

As you all probably know by now, Donghae and Eunhyuk were the seventh and eighth members of Super Junior to depart for their mandatory military service. As contact with trainees is restricted, the two members each wrote letters to let fans know how they’re doing and sent them to SM Entertainment, who then uploaded the letters to the official Super Junior homepage.

Fans are permitted to write and send letters to the members while they’re in training camp; however, packages and envelopes larger than the standard letter size are prohibited and can result in the trainees being punished.

“To, ELF!!

Hello! This is Super Junior’s Donghae. Now I’m Recruit Lee Donghae who is fulfilling my military duty. ^^ The weather got really cold, huh? You haven’t caught a cold or anything, right?? Because you’ve always been right there beside us, now that we’ve been separated I already miss you a lot!! I miss the stage, and I miss the members, and I miss ELF.

I enlisted on my birthday, October 15, 2015, and it’s already October 21. On the day I enlisted I participated in a farewell march, and my heart hurt seeing so many ELF who come to see me off crying so hard. I thought that, time needs to pass quickly so I can quickly return to everyone’s side. I’ve also been doing well, and using the army goods that ELF sent me. I’m also really thankful for the Internet letters that everyone sends everyday, and enjoy reading them. Whenever I’m feeling tired, I’ll take those letters out and read them and cheer up.

I’ve always talked a lot with ELF, whether we met at fan meetings, concerts, or fan signs. For now, even though we have to save up all the things we want to talk about, after July 14, 2017 we can take all those conversations we saved and stay up all night sharing them. ^^ I really enjoy writing letters. ^^ From now on I’ll write letters to ELF often!! It seems that I’m always saying I’m thankful for ELF and that I love ELF, but those words became even more meaningful since I came here so I want to say them even more!! I regret not saying it enough when I was at your side!! When we meet again, let’s say these words and express [these feelings] to each other more often ^^ Got it?

Now Shindong-hyung, Sungmin-hyung, Eunhyuk, and I have already enlisted and Siwon will be enlisting later, and we will all come back as healthier, more handsome men. So ELF! Please wait for Super Junior! Please give the members who are at your side right now lots of love and take care of them! 🙂 I already am looking forward to 2019 and 2018!! Haha. “To My Beloved E.L.F.,

Ten-hut! This is trainee number 216, Lee Hyukjae. Is everyone keeping healthy? Here at the 15^th Division Recruit Training Center in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, I’m eating well, sleeping well, pooping well, and doing well. There’s no need to worry. I can do well no matter where I am. I just miss my members and all of my fans a lot. It’s a little difficult here, but I’ll believe that everyone is doing well and focus on my training.

Do I feel awkward and distant because the way I’m talking is so stiff and formal? Truth is, I actually could write less formally, but I’m going to continue writing like this because it’s cooler to sound more like a soldier. But why hasn’t anyone else shaved their heads? Why am I the only one who’s bald? I’m really disappointed. Didn’t we have a deal? Why aren’t you granting my wish? Do you hate me?

Anyway, since I’ve gone, you don’t have a guy to meet for a year and nine months, [so that means] you have no one you need to look good for. So why haven’t you shaved your heads yet? Even if you shave your heads you’ll all still be pretty!!!! I’ll keep this in mind for the rest of my life. Since you all have taken care of me so well up to this point, I’ll stop at this.

Everyone! Please take good care of the members while I’m gone, and support them diligently, and continue to give them love!! There aren’t many members left now so they will probably be really lonely. Please stand by their side and comfort them for me. I’m alright. Please give me lots of love after I’ve been discharged. I will do really well here.

The air in the mountains is really clean, and the scenery is amazing, and on a clear day I can even see North Korea from the top of the mountain. It’s amazing! Anyway, I really miss everyone. Thank you to all of the fans who came to send me off the day I enlisted. I was really upset when I heard that some people slept outside for a few days ㅠㅠ Whatever you do, don’t get sick, and I will pray that no matter where you are you are always healthy. I love you. I’ll write again.
