Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – October Week 5
SM Entertainment artists continue to dominate our chart, occupying the top two spots this week. Taeyeon’s “I” repeats as No. 1. This song won another four music shows last week. It also has good showing on independent charts, easily topping our chart once again. Congratulations to Taeyeon.
There are three new songs in the top 10 this week and they are all right below the No. 1 song. Moving up 13 spots to No. 2 is Super Junior’s ballad prince Kyuhyun. His song “A Million Pieces” is from his second mini-album “Fall, Once Again.” Kyuhyun made his solo debut late last year with the chart topping hit “At Gwanghwamun.” “A Million Pieces” is a poetic ballad with refined melody to showcase Kyuhyun’s sweet vocal. The lyrics compare one’s love to the unreachable stars in the sky. Let’s see if this song will become Kyuhyun’s second No. 1 hit next week.
Moving up 17 spots to No. 3 is Zion. T’s “No Make Up.” Zion. T is really gaining popularity this year on the duet “Just” with Crush, and his own song “Eat.” Even his old song “Yanghwa Bridge” is generating a lot of interest. “No Make Up” is an R&B song with a pleasant melody and candid lyrics about a guy who thinks his girlfriend looks better without any makeup. Zion. T’s laid back vocal expresses the beauty of pure love in this song.
Up 12 spots to No. 4 is BTOB’s latest ballad hit “Way Back Home.” BTOB has a successful ballad song “It’s Okay” this summer and they generate another hit song in this style. “Way Back Home” is coming from BTOB’s seventh mini-album “I Mean.” This is a very meaningful song telling listeners that regardless of pains they suffer, they should keep striving toward their dreams.
