f(x)’s Krystal Talks

On November 12, f(x)’s Krystal guested on labelmate SHINee’s Jonghyun’s radio show “Blue Night.” On the show, she shared her thoughts about f(x)’s comeback and their latest album, “4 Walls.”

“The members are usually apart because of our individual schedules, but when we release an album we come together for a short and intense time. Right now we’re promoting without sleeping,” she said.

A listener on the show complimented the singer on the title track’s elegant choreography, inspired by the “vogue” dance genre. “I feel good when I hear things like that,” Krystal said. “All the members worked really hard to prepare this album. We practiced the choreography for over two months. It was tough so I’m happy when people tell us that they enjoy it.”

About the title track itself, “4 Walls,” she said, “It’s a song that suits my personal taste really well, but I worried about whether other people would like it. We also had a tough time recording the other songs on the album. The songs were difficult. We worried a lot, but now that the reaction has been good, I’m very happy and grateful.”

The music video has generated many different interpretations because of its abstract style. “The content is open for interpretation,” Krystal said. “It’s interesting because there are no choreography sequences.”

“In fact, the filming was too easy,” she continued. “Because there were no choreography sequences, we finished at 7 p.m. All the members couldn’t believe we were finished so early.”

The music video was shot in a forest and a pension on Jeju Island. “Because the filming felt too comfortable, we worried that the music video wouldn’t be very good. But luckily it turned out well.”
