Review: Celeb Makeup Artist PONY's Makeup Line PONY Effect

Following the success and popularity of her makeup collaborations with global cosmetics company Memebox, celebrity makeup artist PONY has launched her very own makeup line called PONY Effect! We tried out the new products ourselves to provide an in-depth and honest review for Soompiers.

“That Girl” is PONY’s first collection for her new makeup line. This collection includes an eyeshadow palette, contour palette, three lipsticks, and four nail polishes. Every product has beautiful and sleek packaging complete with the trendy PONY Effect logo. Most products include PONY’s signature pink and purple colors.

Since PONY’s previous eyeshadow palettes with Memebox are her most popular products, let’s start with her That Girl Fever Shadow Palette. The palette includes three matte, four shimmer, and two glitter eyeshadows. They really are smooth and silky while being easy to blend. The packaging is also really convenient as it can fit into the palm of your hand and includes a large mirror through which you can view your whole face. With some K-pop inspired names like Overdose, Beautiful Liar, and Just 10 Seconds, the shadows are perfect for everyday and special occasions. We included swatches (from left to right starting with the first row) for you below! The shadows are actually more vibrant and beautiful in person. Drunk Dial, in particular, is a gorgeous duochrome blue-brown.

Strobing is all the rage all over the world. And for good reason too! Highlighting and contouring helps you accentuate your features, create dimension, and slim your face. That Girl Luminous Contour Palette makes it easier by combining two strobing shades and two contouring shades in one handy palette. These powders are also silky smooth and the palette is the same size as the eyeshadow palette (including the large mirror!). This palette is best suited for individuals with a light to medium skin tone and ideal for a natural glow. You can also use them as eyeshadows! See our swatches (from left to right) below:

No makeup look is complete without a lip color. PONY designed That Girl Outfit Lipsticks to complement three different outfits/occasions. Noble Brunch is a warm pink nude suitable for any occasion and great to pair with darker eye makeup. Expensive Dinner is a flattering berry red. Lastly, Vibrant Club is a trendy plum burgundy. These lipsticks are all very moisturizing, full coverage, and have a nice satin finish. They are perfect to use for the ever popular gradient lip as they are comfortable and easy to layer. Best of all, the lipsticks have magnetic packaging which ensures that you won’t get lipstick all over your stuff as the lids close magnetically. Take a look at our swatches below:

That Girl Illusion Nail Lacquer is perfect for winter and the holidays. The jewel-toned colors are bold and dazzling. Party Fever is a shimmery plum purple, Sensual Seduction is a shimmery midnight blue, Be Imagination is a shimmery forest green, and Illusion Glass is clear with chunky opalescent cellophane foil. We swatched them on our nails for you. The opalescent glitter can be used as a top coat for a trendy foil nail look.
