Park Hae Jin Reflects on His Past 10 Years As an Actor in Vogue Pictorial

Park Hae Jin’s charismatic yet gentle charms are obvious in a recent pictorial with Vogue magazine.

In the images, Park Hae Jin unravels his inner masculinity, which is usually cloaked by his sweet looks. Though his hair is styled in a messy bed hair look, his sharp eyes pierce into the camera. He especially proved that he was a professional by using several different props, from the sofa to curtains, in order to add more variety to his poses.

In an interview held after the photo shoot, Park Hae Jin went deep with his conversations.

“I’ve now been acting for 10 years. I’m relieved that I have not been standing at the same spot for that amount of time. Though I know I still have miles ahead of me, I think I’m getting closer to where I want to be with each show I take on,” he said as he recollected the years he spent back and forth from China to Korea.

He especially acknowledge his acting in China as a significant experience. “Duo Duo’s Marriage,” “Another Brilliant Life,” and “Love’s Relativity,” are Chinese dramas he has starred in, bringing attention to the pieces with only his presence. However, he said acting in China wasn’t easy from the start, no matter how popular he was.

“I struggled a lot in the beginning because I was acting in Korean then doing a voiceover in Chinese,” he said. “Sometimes I would passionately act out an emotional scene, but in the end there would be an extra line left. That means I skipped something, but neither I nor the director could figure out what it was.”

“If I had gone to China as another Korean Wave star, I would not have been able to continue acting like this,” he added. “I was throwing myself into the challenge, and thankfully I think I can continue to act because of the love my shows are reciving.”

“When I was in my early 20s, I wanted to become 30 as soon as possible. I thought I would get wrinkles on my forehead and look more masculine when I’d become 30. However, now that I have reached that age, the only thing I’ve gained is my age,” he jokingly said with brutal honesty.

Fans will be able to learn more about Park Hae Jin, from his role as Yoo Jung in “Cheese in the Trap” to his 10 years as an actor, in the December issue of Vogue.
