SM Entertainment Selected as Most Wanted Brand in China

The winners for the “2015 Hallyu Core Awards” have been announced! The awards are hosted by Korea’s Hankyung Media Group and China’s Sina Corp and seek to award enterprises that have spread Hallyu culture throughout China.

At the awards, SM Entertainment, home to K-Pop powerhouses such as Girls’ Generation, EXO, and Super Junior, took home the prize in the Entertainment category and was selected as the most wanted entertainment brand in China.

The prizes were awarded in various categories such as entertainment, high and general fashion, beauty, electronics, health, lifestyle, and food. To determine the winners, Sina surveyed 10,000 Chinese consumers who have visited Korea or purchased Korean products.

As a leader in overseas expansion, SM Entertainment has expanded its business in China through a variety of local strategies and built up its reputation. In 2013, SM placed No. 32 on the list of 100 most influential companies compiled by It was the highest rank among Korean companies on the list.
