Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – November Week 4

After spending the last three weeks at No. 2 and 3, IU’s “Twenty-Three” finally moves up to No. 1 this week. It is IU’s first No. 1 song in nearly two years. Her last was “Friday” from early 2014. In capturing the top spot this week, IU ended the dominance of SM Entertainment’s female artists who spent the last 12 weeks on top of our chart with four different songs. IU also solidifies her position to win the top female artist in the upcoming year end awards. Congratulations to IU.

There are three new songs in the top 10 this week. Just below the No. 1 song is VIXX’s “Chained Up,” moving up 13 spots to No. 2. This song is the title track of VIXX’s second full length album of the same name. It has an additive dance beat. The lyrics are about a guy who becomes a slave of love, like a tamable beast being chained up. This song won on “Music Bank” and “Show Champion” last week. Let’s see if it will gain enough points to challenge for the top spot next week.

Moving up 13 spots to No. 9 is ballad trio 4MEN’s “Hug Me.” This song is coming from the group’s first Live Album, a collection of many of 4MEN’s biggest hits in breathtaking live performances. “Hug Me” is the only studio new song from this album. It is an emotional ballad about a couple wanting to hug one more time before separation.

Younha is back in the top 10 this week with her new song “Thinking About You,” moving up 17 spots to No. 10. Written and produced by Akdong Musician’s Lee Chan Hyuk, “Thinking About You” is a beautiful ballad tailor made for the fall season. The poetic lyrics are about a woman recalling the happy memories she had with her ex-boyfriend in the past.
