Royal Pirates Makes Long-Awaited Comeback With

Royal Pirates are finally back, with a new sound and a beautifully shot music video for their title track “Run Away,” which combines rock and EDM styles.

The six-track EP, “3.3,” is entirely written by the Royal Pirates themselves, and is with no doubt a huge step and new departure for the group.

It’s a new journey particularly for member James. This is the first release with Royal Pirates where James is not on bass; following a severe wrist injury, he was forced to give up the instrument.

James spoke about it at the group’s comeback showcase held on November 30. “It was a shock to have to give up the bass, which I’ve played for 13 years. Suddenly having to change my instrument, it caught me off guard,” said James.

He continued, speaking about his accident. “When I had my accident, I went through a tough time. My wrist was nearly severed, and I thought I must be dreaming. It happened when I went to a restaurant in Itaewon, and the door collapsed.”

He stated that he is still receiving physical therapy. You can see James’ triumphant return on keyboard in the “Run Away” music video below.

Also in the music video — and joining Royal Pirates during performances for this release — is Enik Lin of the group IAMEDIC
