Actors Kim Hee Ae and Ji Jin Hee Hit Jackpot Portraying Adulterers on TV

The November 30 broadcast of tvN’s “The List 2015” released the list of stars who hit the jackpot portraying the role of an adulterer on television.

Actress Kim Hee Ae ranked as the number one actress on the list for portraying a woman who has an affair with her best friend’s husband in the 2007 drama “My Husband’s Woman.”

She angered many female viewers for her realistic portrayal of a mistress. Even her own mother commented she would’ve preferred to see her daughter in the role of the faithful wife portrayed by actress Bae Jong Ok. However, Kim Hee Ae succeeded in transforming her image through this role and even won the grand prize at the SBS Drama Awards.

Actor Ji Jin Hee ranked number two on the list. The drama that put him on the map as the “Best Adulterer on TV” is “I Have a Lover.” In the drama, he falls for a twenty-something Park Han Byul while his marriage is on the rocks.

Ji Jin Hee said he was sharply criticized for portraying the role so realistically. He also said he avoids watching the drama with his family because he’s afraid of getting beat up. He mentioned that his two sons are highly critical of the role their father portrays in the drama. On the other hand, Ji Jin Hee emphasizes his love for his wife saying, “Six years of dating and 12 years of marriage. You’re still beautiful to me.”

“The List 2015” is a program that delves into celebrities through fun facts and rankings. It airs every Monday at 8:40 p.m. KST.
