RP (Royal Pirates) Point Out Their Differences From Other Korean Rock Bands

Rock band RP (Royal Pirates) pinpointed how they were different from FT Island and CNBLUE.

The showcase for Royal Pirates’s new album “3.3” was held on November 30. During the event, the band was asked how they were different from other bands such as FT Island and CNBLUE.

“We’ve been playing together since we were young, and I think we have our own originality,” Moon Kim said. “Though I can’t say that we’re mainstream, I do think that we have a sound unique to a three-man band like us.”

“We’ve grown up listening to different kind of rock while living in the U.S., so I think our colors will be different,” EXSY said. “I also think we have the advantage of being able to communicate with foreign fans easier both culture and language wise.”

Royal Pirates debuted in 2013 and will be making a comeback with their third album in a year and four months. Their new album is especially noteworthy because Jung Jae Yoon from the legendary R&B group Solid produced it.

Their title song “Run Away” is a unique mix of rock, EDM, break beat, and DJ scratches, forming the perfect modern rock song.
