Kim Sung Joo and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA Selected to MC for Gayo Daejejeon

According to the entertainment division representative at the broadcasting station, entertainer Kim Sung Joo and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA have been selected to host the 2015 MBC Gayo Daejejeon looking back on the year.

This is not the first time the two entertainers have worked together. They emceed MBC’s Special DMZ Peace Concert in August held in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Korean Liberation from Japanese Imperialism. Although it was their first time emceeing together, they received lots of positive feedback.

Last year, Kim Sung Joo emceed the MBC Entertainment Awards alongside actors Kim Sung Ryung and Park Hyung Sik. He also emceed last year’s Gayo Daejejeon with entertainer Jun Hyun Moo, actress Lee Yoo Ri, Girl’s Day’s Hyeri, and SISTAR’s Soyu. YoonA also has had ample experience emceeing shows such as the 2009 and 2011 KBS Entertainment Awards, 2013 KBS Drama Awards, and KBS Gayo Festival among other awards shows. She’s one of the busiest entertainers at the end of the year thanks to her talent.

Gayo Daejejeon is MBC’s year-end music program and it airs on December 31. Since 2005, the live broadcast of ringing in the new year at the Imjingak Peace Park during the show has attracted and kept many viewers up into the night.
