SM Entertainment Claims the Most Amount of MAMA Awards Out of Big 3

Contrary to expectations that YG Entertainment would come out of the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) with the most awards, the award count looks to be relatively evenly spread across the major three companies: SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment.

SM Entertainment collected a total of 9 awards: Best Female Solo Artist (Taeyeon), Global Fan Choice — Male (EXO), Global Fan Choice — Female (f(x)), Best Male-Group Dance Performance (SHINee), Best Female-Group Dance Performance (Red Velvet), Best Female Group (Girls’ Generation),  Best Style (EXO), Best Male Group (EXO), and Album of the Year (EXO for “EXODUS”).

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment came away 5 awards: Best Male Rookie Award (iKON), Best Music Video (BIGBANG), Worldwide Favorite Artist (BIGBANG), Best Song (BIGBANG for “Bang Bang Bang”), and Artist of the Year (BIGBANG).

Finally, JYP Entertainment won a total of 3 awards: Best Female Rookie Award (TWICE), Best Male Solo Artist (Park Jin Young), Best Producer (Park Jin Young).

Are you surprised that any agency didn’t win more awards? Or any didn’t win less?
