30th Golden Disk Awards to Be Held in Shenzhen

It has been confirmed that the 30th annual Golden Disk Awards will be held in Shenzhen, China in January!

The star-studded award ceremony that celebrates the best of the best in Korea’s music industry will be held at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center over two days, on January 20 and 21. This is not the first time that the show has gone overseas, as past ceremonies have been held in Japan, Malaysia, and China.

Over 20 artists and groups are expected to be heading to Shenzhen for the event, and it’s promised that the line up will include not only mainstream artists but also popular favorites from the underground scene.

The show is co-sponsored by Jiangsu Television and will also be broadcast online by Chinese video streaming site iQiYI. It will air on JTBC and QTV in Korea.

Day one of the massive event will be focusing on digital music awards, while the album awards show will take place on day two. Nominees for the awards are expected to be announced sometime this week on the ceremony’s official website.
