FIESTAR’s Yezi Has No Regrets About Appearing on “Unpretty Rapstar 2”

Yezi, the youngest member of girl group FIESTAR, impressed many viewers and hip-hop fans during her stint on Mnet’s rap survival program “Unpretty Rapstar 2.” In a recent interview, she spoke up about her thoughts on the show and its end.

“Previously, people wouldn’t recognize me even if I changed my hair and style,” she said. “But now even if I don’t change anything, people recognize me. I think they’ve gotten familiar with me and it feels good.”

Yezi debuted with FIESTAR three years ago, having worked for six years including her trainee days to build up her reputation. “I learned that I have a competitive streak through ‘Unpretty Rapstar 2,’” she said. “I learned many good and bad points about myself through the show. The moment I most regret is when I didn’t sleep while preparing for a performance and made a mistake in the lyrics. But I think everyone else had a moment like that too.”

Despite the competitive nature of the show, Yezi is still friendly with the other contestants. “We all suffered together preparing for missions without enough time to sleep or eat,” she said. “After the show ended, everyone who appeared on the show met up and had dinner except for Suah and EXY, because they were still trainees. Even now, we all still contact each other.”

Yezi also received a strong support system from her fellow FIESTAR members. “They were really happy that I was on the show. We gathered together at the dorm to watch each episode. I’m the most easygoing out of all the members so I think the unnis got vicarious satisfaction out of watching me.”

Finally, the young idol rapper concluded with her thoughts about standing on the “2015 MAMA” stage. “It was a great experience. After it was over, I said that I wanted to appear again with FIESTAR. I will work hard to make that a reality.”
