Announcing The 11th Annual Soompi Awards
We’re nearing the end of the year and we all know what that means – reminiscing about all the releases of 2015 and the official announcement of the annual Soompi Awards!
As you may already know, the Soompi Awards is the culmination of the Soompi Music Chart rankings for the entire year. The Soompi Music Chart, established in 2006, is the result of a sophisticated series of formulas that take into account not only the top charts in Korea, but also the popularity of the artists on Soompi itself. The winning artists are provided physical trophies and a chance to thank the voting audience – you, the Soompiers – on camera!
Along with the K-pop category, we are also bringing back the fan-curated K-drama category. Representing the best of dramas, variety shows, and actors, the Soompi K-Drama Awards encompasses the best in Korean TV in 2015!
The K-Pop Awards consist of 15 categories: Top Female Solo Artist, Top Male Solo Artist, Top Female Group, Top Male Group, Top Hip-Hop Artist, Top Collaboration, Rookie of the Year, Breakout Artist, Best Music Video, Best Choreography, Best Stage Outfit, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and the ultimate Artist of the Year. Oh, you noticed that we only listed 14 categories? You’re right! We also have a top-secret MYSTERY CATEGORY, to be announced soon – so stay tuned to our Twitter account!
The K-Drama Awards consist of 15 categories: Best Drama OST, Breakout Actor, Best Idol Actor, Best Variety Show, Best Couple, Best Bromance, Best Variety Star, Best Kiss, Best Cameo, Best Transformation, Best Supernatural/Thriller Drama, Second Lead Syndrome, Actress of the Year, Actor of the Year, and the ultimate Drama of the Year.
