Soompi Is Hiring: Contract Assistant Editor for Chinese Dramas and Korean News Writers

Hello, Soompiers! We are currently looking for talented and creative people to join the Soompi team!

Soompi Contract Assistant Editor (Chinese Content)

As the Soompi contract assistant editor, you will work 24 to 30 hours a week on a fixed schedule of your devising. You may report to our office in Seoul, or work from home with regular video conference calls. Duties will include writing and editing articles. The period is three months, with possibility of extension, and the position is paid.

Requirements:

  • Passionate about Chinese, Taiwanese, and Hong Kong dramas and entertainment
  • Familiar with Korean dramas and entertainment
  • Strong command of English grammar
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organized, proactive, and dedicated
  • Chinese reading ability is preferred, but not necessary

If you are reporting to our office in Seoul, you must be able to work legally in Korea, meaning that you will need to possess a proper visa. F-4 (for people of Korean heritage) and H-1 (for people from Canada, Australia, France, New Zealand, and Japan) will suffice, and other visas may be an option. We cannot sponsor visas, and we do not provide housing or transportation expenses.

Requirements:

  • Fluent enough in Korean to be able to read and translate written material
  • Strong command of English grammar
  • Good knowledge of the Korean entertainment industry
  • Organized, proactive, and dedicated
