K-Pop Idols Who Will Be Working This Christmas

The Christmas holidays have begun! As Christmas Eve is on a Thursday, people can enjoy a long weekend all the way until Sunday. But how are K-pop idols, who are notorious for their full schedules, spending this Christmas? While there are those who are taking a well-deserved break, many are working hard over the holidays.

For example, a surprising number of idols are participating in drama filmings. On December 24, Girl’s Day’s Hyeri will be focusing on the filming of her tvN drama “Reply 1988,” while miss A’s Suzy is working hard on filming her drama “Uncontrollably Fond” that is scheduled to be broadcast sometime early next year. DAVICHI member Kang Min Kyung will be filming a commercial on December 24 and a drama on December 25, while SECRET’s Song Ji Eun will be filming her KBS1 drama “Our Home’s Honey Jar” on Christmas Day.

Dramas aren’t the only thing that these busy idols have to film! ZE:A member Kwanghee will be recording for the upcoming episode of MBC’s “Infinite Challenge,” while fellow member Siwan will be promoting his movie “A Melody to Remember.” AOA’s Mina is also filming a drama, KBS2’s “All About My Mom,” while fellow member Seolhyun is filming a commercial. BTS will be holding a live broadcast on the Naver V app on Christmas Eve, while Block B rapper Zico is holding a Christmas event and fellow member Park Kyung will be recording for “Problematic Man.”

As singers, we can’t forget about the music. Veteran idol group g.o.d will be holding a concert in Daegu, while rookie group iKON just released their full-length album on December 24 at midnight KST. Solo singer PSY will be holding his year-end concert from December 24 to 26, while ballad singer K.Will is holding his own concert on the same days. Finally, JYP’s rookie boy band DAY6 will be performing a Christmas Rock Day concert while rapper Mad Clown will be performing at a hip-hop festival.

On Christmas Day, several idol groups will be standing on stage for KBS’s special year-end “Music Bank.” These include EXO, Red Velvet, GOT7, CNBLUE, AOA, Infinite, Lovelyz, UP10TION, MONSTA X, and VIXX (with the exception of member Hongbin, who is filming his drama “Moorim School”).

There are even idols who are working on both Christmas and Christmas Eve! 2PM’s Taecyeon will be sharing a special event with his fans, “Lonely OkTaec’s Christmas,” and VIXX is holding their own fan sign event on December 24. JYP’s Baek Ah Yeon, BEAST’s Dongwoon, and Super Junior’s Ryeowook will be performing in their respective musicals and plays (“Cinderella,” “The Great Gatsby,” and “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”). Meanwhile, girl group SONAMOO will be performing at the “Infinite Challenge Expo” and attending the SBS Awards Festival on December 25, while monster rookie group SEVENTEEN is holding their debut concert from December 24 to 26.
