EXO's Chen to Perform With World-Renowned Pianist Steve Barakatt for UNICEF

On December 30, UNICEF and SM Entertainment revealed that EXO’s Chen will be hitting the stage with world-renowned pianist Steve Barakatt, performing John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

This performance is just part of UNICEF’s “Imagine Project,” a global campaign that strives to achieve a world where, like the lyrics of “Imagine,” children everywhere are “living life in peace.”

SM Entertainment has been involved in various projects for children. Earlier in November, SM Entertainment entered an agreement of social contribution with UNICEF, and opened the “Smile For You” campaign, which supports musical education for children. Naturally, the agency readily agreed to the “Imagine” performance to be held on January 2.

Leading up to the performance, Steve Barakatt said, “I’m really excited and looking forward to the performing with Chen. It’s particularly special, being able to open 2016 with a message of peace and hope for the world.”

Chen also stated, “It’s an honor to perform with Steve Barakatt, singing a song as meaningful as ‘Imagine.’ I hope many will be able to give 2016 a warm start with our performance.”

Chen and Steve Barakatt’s joint performance will be held at the on January 2 at 7 p.m. KST at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. Steve Barakatt is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his first concert in Korea.
