4Minute Talk Teamwork, Respect, and Upcoming Comeback

Fierce girl group 4Minute recently graced the pages of Grazia in their first group pictorial of the year. As a change from their powerful concept on stage, the girls look mature in in toned-down, neutral-tinted makeup.

The long-running group was also full of chatter behind the scenes, sharing their feelings about moving into their eighth year together. “We’re proud,” they said. “We talk about it among ourselves a lot too. It’s amazing that we’ve come this far without any major issues. When we first debuted, we stressed the point that all of us were born in the 1990s, but now there are idols who were born in the 2000s. When we go to music broadcasts, there are times when we’re the most senior group.”

The girls are also asked about their secret to going so long without any major issues or member changes. “At first we tried to respect one another and there were a lot of things to worry about. After spending a lot of time together, we got comfortable. It was possible because the members have trust in one another.”

4Minute is reportedly scheduled to have a comeback sometime early this year. Gayoon said, “I don’t want to show people a performance that isn’t perfect. We’ve been around a while and there are lots of rookies debuting. When we finish our stage, we want people to say, ‘Wow, 4Minute!’ We don’t want them to feel ambivalent.”

Jiyoon added, “I think it’s time for us to hear things like, ‘They’ve graduated from idols to artists.’”
