Rapper Crown J Questions Why His Song Was Banned

Hip-hop artist Crown J is currently looking into why his song “aka Made It” was banned from public broadcasting.

The song was banned from broadcast for cursing and for including brand names in the lyrics. Crown J said, “It’s true that there’s a brand called ‘lolo’, but the word ‘lolo’ isn’t in the song at all. They also called the word ‘moet’ into question, but ‘moet’ is a common way of referring to champagne in general. It had nothing to do with the brand.”

As far as the cursing goes, Crown J said that there weren’t any curse words in the song. He added, “I don’t know what their standards are for what’s considered vulgar. I’d considered putting out both clean and explicit versions, but I edited the song so that everyone could listen to it comfortably.”

Crown J wrapped up his concerns by clarifying the meaning of the song. “It’s a song that compares women to hip-hop, because I wanted to portray my music in an interesting way.”

What do you think of the ban?
