10 K-Pop Sub-Units We Want to See Right Now

Nothing beats seeing your faves getting together and forming a new awesome sub-unit, but there’s still some that haven’t happened…YET. Here are the top 10 sub-units that we’re just dying to see.

10. SHINee’s Onew and Jonghyun

There are a couple of beautiful ballads from Onew and Jonghyun, but an official debut to showcase their heavenly voices wouldn’t go amiss. Come on SM, give us an OnHyun album!

9. A Pink’s Namjoo and Eunji

Do you hear these angels? Namjoo’s and Eunji’s beautiful voices are made for teary ballads. You know they’d release the best winter break-up song to cry along to.

8.BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook

OT7 is amazing, but this needs to happen. Jimin and Jungkook have already given us an idea of how incredible a Jikook sub-unit could be with this perfect version of Justin Bieber‘s “Mistletoe.”

7. EXID’s Hani and LE

These gorgeous girls make this song their own with Hani‘s smooth softness and LE’s higher, raw voice. It’s the perfect combination!

6. Ailee and f(x)’s Amber

Technically it’s not a sub-unit, but everyone knows Amber and Ailee are the best of friends, and it shows in this performance. Amber also featured on Ailee’s album, so you can already hear how well they fit together.

5. Wonder Girls’ Yubin and Sunmi

Both Sunmi and Yubin are great as soloists and as part of Wonder Girls, but put them into a sub-unit and it’s a match made in heaven. “Who Am I?” is something that you definitely want more of. JYP, please bring back YOU&ME!

4. IKON’s Jinhwan and Junhoe

Jinhwan‘s sweet singing with Junhoe‘s husky voice create something wonderful. One question, how do they hit those impossible high notes?!

3.Mamamoo’s Solar and Wheein

Don’t be fooled by Solar and Wheein’s choice of comedy duo UV’s “No Cool I’m Sorry” for this cover. Their vocals (and harmonies) are second to none. Solar and Wheein are adorably dorky in the video, but their abilities still shine bright.

2. Red Velvet’s Wendy and Seulgi

Wendy and Seulgi’s sweet friendship matches this song perfectly. Judging by their cute smiles, a sub-unit for these friends would be so much fun!

1. Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, and Yuri

SHY has forever been on a SONE’s wishlist, and this performance proves why! Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, and Yuri make a unique sub-unit, as most tend to be for the big ballad singers, but this shows off their dancing skills, which, as you know, deserves so much more attention.

Are the any sub-units not on this list that you would like to see happen this year? Let us know in the comments below.
