Moon Geun Young Donates Over 930 Million Won to Charity Over 13 Years

It has been revealed that actress Moon Geun Young has quietly donated over 930 million won (approximately $776,000) to help those in need over the past thirteen years.

Moon Geun Young’s name has been included on the list of members in the “Honor Society” on the Community Chest of Korea’s “Fruit of Love” official homepage. This “Honor Society”  is composed of over a thousand donors who have privately contributed large amounts of money and are respected in society.

Celebrities who are also on the list include actors Ahn Jae Wook, Park Hae Jin, and Kim Bo Sung, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, miss A’s Suzy, soccer player Park Ji Sung, and more.

Moon Geun Young has been helping to pay surgery costs for children with cancer and patients with rare incurable diseases since 2003. All together, she has donated over 930 million won for this cause through the Community Chest of Korea.

A representative from her agency Namoo Actors confirms that Moon Geun Young has been donating to the charity since 2003. They add, “Her donations have been made privately, so we did not know about them either. It is a good deed, but she did not want it to be revealed, so she steadily made the donations quietly.”

Moon Geun Young recently starred in the SBS thriller drama “The Village: Achiara’s Secret.”
