GFRIEND Had Initial Doubts About Their Group Name

Rookie girl group GFRIEND says they used to have some doubts about their group name.

On January 25, the six-member group was a guest on KBS CoolFM’s “Kim Sung Joo’s Music Plaza.”

When asked who was responsible for naming the group, member Yuju said, “Our name was given to us by our CEO.”

“After our group name was confirmed as GFRIEND, we felt gloomy for half a day. We felt like the name didn’t fit us, and simply the word itself made us cringe.”

She finally explained that they no longer feel uncomfortable about the name, “Now that we promote with strong faith in ourselves, we have grown to embrace our group name.”

Meanwhile, GFRIEND dropped their new mini album “Snowflake” along with the music video for “Rough” earlier today.
