Mnet to Produce New Girl Group Reality Program in China
Mnet, who has produced popular competitive reality programs such as “Unpretty Rapstar,” “SIXTEEN,” and the currently airing “Produce 101,” has teamed up with Zhejiang Satellite TV to produce a girl group reality show in China.
“Mnet will be producing the idol survival program ‘Honeybee Girls’ that is scheduled to air February 3 on Zhejiang Satellite TV,” a representative said on January 27. “China expressed interest in our production department after seeing the show ‘SIXTEEN.’”
“Honeybee Girls” will start with 14 contestants and Chinese actor Nicholas Tse and Taiwanese actor Nicky Wu will be making appearances on the show. As exchanges with Korean trainees are planned, Korean celebrities may also be making appearances on the show.
