Heize on Her Music Journey Before "Unpretty Rapstar"

In a recent interview, former “Unpretty Rapstar 2” contestant Heize shares the story of her musical journey before the show.

After taking a leave of absence for a year from college to pursue rapping, Heize moved from Busan, where she was attending school, to Seoul. “All year I worked part-time jobs while making music. That’s how my single “After Wandering Just a Little Bit More” (working title) was released in 2014,” the rapper says.

As promised to the parentals, Heize returned to school after the year and focused on her studies, which she excelled in and ranked first place in her major.

But Heize couldn’t stay away from music and returned to Seoul, once again polishing her craft while working part-time jobs. And it was this second time around that she received a casting inquiry from “Unpretty Rapstar 2.”

While acknowledging the less savory aspects of the show, Heize is overall grateful for her time on “Unpretty Rapstar.” “I appreciate and am satisfied in the result. The show gave me so much,” she shares.
