5 Upcoming March Dramas to Squee About

I know everyone is totally on top of every single drama that comes out (riiiiight), but sometimes it’s difficult sifting through it all. Never fear, that’s what the internet is for, right? This article spotlights five upcoming dramas that just might be your cup of tea. Read on!

Refresh Man

Oh man, oh man, I am soooo excited for “Refresh Man,” scheduled to start March 5. Won’t lie, I’m shipping Aaron Yan and Joanne Tseng together hardcore.

I mean, look at them! How could you not? In “Refresh Man,” Ji Wen Kai (Aaron Yan) and Zhong Yu Tang (Joanne Tseng) play childhood rivals, but really, Zhong Yu Tang always won. She slayed at school, got a job at MUSE Cosmetics- where everyone wanted to work, and just overall killed it. Poor Ji Wen Kai didn’t really do too well in school, and eventually just went abroad to find work. Cue present day, where Ji Wen Kai returns as a hotshot manager who is brought in to save the foundering MUSE Cosmetics. Guess who his secretary is? Yep, that’s right, Zhong Yu Tang! I love workplace romances, and can’t wait until this starts.

Jackpot
Once a year, during Lunar New Year, I pull out the dollar dollar bills y’all (and quarters) and gamble the night away! Winning big to me means hanging onto at least half the money I started with. What can I say, the house, i.e., my oldest cousin, really knows how to roll the dice. I can say though, I’m probably better off than King Yeongjo (Yeo Jin Goo) who literally bets his kingdom in upcoming late March drama “Jackpot“! Omo~ Starring opposite him in this historical drama is Jang Geun Suk as the Dae Gil, purported best gambler in Joseon, and King Yeongjo’s rival. This is his first saegeuk role in eight years! I loved him in “Hong Gil Dong“, and can’t wait to see how he’s matured as an actor. The lead female role will be played by the ever so lovely Lim Ji Yeon. Anyone else as excited as I am?

The Love Song

The Love Song
I know, I know, I said upcoming. But this starts at the end of February, and we all know February is so short that… does it really count as a month? I kid, but I’m really excited for this drama solely for Sean Lee, whom I was really feeling in Bromance (sorry, Vivi Lee and Darren Qiu! You’re both pretty awesome too, I swear). “The Love Song ” follows Jiang Hsiao Chien (Vivi Lee), a Taiwanese woman who has a bit of a long distance marriage—her husband works in Mainland China. She stays strong and tries to create a life around herself to help with the loneliness, but then who comes swanning in as her new neighbor but her first love and ex-boyfriend Ho Hsiao Chuen (Darren Qiu)? This could either turn into a nightmare or a dream scenario. How will Jiang Hsaio Chien cope? I must admit, this drama’s appeal to me lies in its realism. A woman faced with two paths with two different men. Which will she choose?

Mr Black
Based on a famous manhwa, I’m curious to see whether “Goodbye Mr. Black” will do it justice! Premiering on March 16, this revenge story revolves around Navy Special Operations Force UDT Officer Cha Ji Won (Lee Jin Wook), who is betrayed (!) by his best friend, resort group chaebol Min Sun Jae (Kim Kang Woo). He comes back to wreak veangence. At Cha Ji Won’s side is fake wife Swan (Moon Chae Won), who helps hide his identity. I am super loving Moon Chae Won’s new short ‘do for this drama!
This trailer looks suuuuper action-y, I can’t wait!

descendants of the sun
All’s fair in love and war and airing dates. I figured if I was going to stick in one drama that aired in late February, I might as well try and slip one more by you readers! Did it work? Hopefully you won’t even notice, because you’ll be too busy drooling over Song Joong Ki in “Descendants of the Sun.” UN Peacekeeping Forces Captain Yoo Shi Jin (Song Joong Ki) is sent to troubled Uruk (an imaginary country), with his Special Warfare Command Unit. There, he encounters Doctors Without Borders volunteer, Dr. Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo). This is definitely an intense drama, so grab a blanket to hide under.

Check out the first episode to see Song Joong Gi in all his post-military service glory!
