Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo Fall in Love at First Sight on “Descendants of the Sun”

The first episode of “Descendants of the Sun” aired on February 24 and the chemistry between the Song-Song lead actors is already out in full force.

The couple first meet when Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo’s characters send Kim Min Suk’s character to the emergency room. Song Hye Kyo, who is Kim Min Suk’s doctor, misunderstands the situation and is hard on Song Joong Ki, but this only intrigues him more.

“If you’re a doctor, you must not have a boyfriend,” Song Joong Ki says flirtatiously. “Because you’re so busy.” But Song Hye Kyo didn’t give up any ground, shooting back, “If you’re a soldier, you must not have a girlfriend. Because you’re too tough.”

Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won are also tangled in their own ambiguous line. At one point Kim Ji Won’s character had tears in her eyes as she said, “How long are you going to keep running away? Answer me. It’s not like I don’t know the reason. Just let me hear your voice.”

But Jin Goo has a surprise in store for her, replying, “It’s not the reason you’re thinking of. I would appreciate it if you didn’t think I left for your benefit. I had a change of heart. Nothing can explain that.”
