BTS’s V Debuting as an Actor Using His Real Name

On February 29, BTS’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment, confirmed that V will make his debut as an actor. He will join the cast members of the upcoming historical drama “Hwarang: The Beginning” on KBS 2TV. V will be using his real name Kim Taehyung as an actor.

The drama is scheduled to air in the second half of the year and the story takes place during the Silla dynasty. V will portray the role of Han Sung who is the grandson of Suk Hyun Jae who goes up against the Silla imperial family.

V’s character Han Sung is a man of kind and friendly nature. He pursues peace and harmony among the people. However, he is also a character who acts to ignite the conflict between friendships and families.

This is V’s first time acting since he had made his debut as one of the BTS members back in 2013.

“Hwarang: The Beginning” will the tell the story of passion, love, and growth of a group of elite young men in the Silla dynasty. It is described as a “Youth Historical Drama.”

Actors Park Seo Joon, Go Ara, ZE:A’s Park Hyung Sik, and SHINee’s Choi Minho are already confirmed to star in the drama drawing lots of attention from the fans.
