“Descendants of the Sun” Chief Producer Ham Young Hoon Resigns from KBS

Ham Young Hoon, the chief producer of KBS2’s hit drama “Descendants of the Sun,” has submitted his resignation from the network.

It was previously reported that the KBS drama department was in a state of crisis because three of the PDs from “Descendants of the Sun,” Ham Young Hoon, Lee Eung Bok, and Baek Sang Hoon, all planned to resign from KBS. This was particularly noteworthy considering that other KBS PDs, most notably Na Young Suk and “Incomplete Life“‘s Kim Won Seok, have resigned from KBS and gone on to be highly successful at other networks.

However, a source from KBS clarified with Ilgan Sports on March 9, “Ham Young Hoon has submitted his resignation, although it has not yet been accepted. It is not true that PDs Lee Eung Bok and Baek Sang Hoon have also submitted their resignations.”

Although Ham Young Hoon may be leaving the network, this news is not expected to affect the drama “Descendants of the Sun,” as it was entirely pre-filmed before the show’s premiere.
