Watch: TWICE and GFRIEND Are a Blast From the Past With “Gee” Performance

Hot rookie girl groups TWICE and GFRIEND took us all back to 2009 with their cover of Girls’ Generation’s iconic song “Gee” on SBS‘s “Inkigayo.”

On March 16, four members of GFRIEND and five members of TWICE teamed up for the performance. The set was decorated with a candy-pink carousel in honor of White Day (March 14) while the girls dressed up in the brightly colored jeans that Girls’ Generation wore when they promoted the song.

The song’s lyrics perfectly match the youthful vibe of the rookie girl groups and their bright and energetic performance had not a step or note out of place.

“We intend to keep showing covers of iconic songs and brand-new collaborations on our program,” said Lee Yang Hwa, the PD of “Inkigayo.”
