Luhan and Kris Discuss Unfair Distribution of Profits and Nonpayment With SM at Court

Luhan and Kris, former members of EXO, are unable to reach a settlement with SM Entertainment regarding their lawsuits against SM for the non-validity of their contracts, due to contrasting opinions.

On March 18, the legal teams of both Luhan and Kris met with the defense, SM Entertainment for their third court date at Seoul Central District Court, in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Legal representatives from both Luhan and Kris’s side argue, “The issues are whether their exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment are fair, and nonpayment of money owed to Luhan and Kris. Statements of their balances were agreed to be given every six months, but instead were given once a year.”

SM’s defense attorney submitted documents of accounts that were given to Kris and Luhan as evidence. Regarding the distribution of profits, the attorney states, “We will submit our response in writing after additional investigations.”

Kris and Luhan both filed these specific lawsuits last May and October, respectively. They both filed to terminate their contracts, and subsequently left EXO, in 2014. Both of their fourth court dates will be held on April 8.
