Have you ever fallen victim to the internet and spent way too much time searching up your favorite idols? Well, Tumblr users around the world are no strangers to that. This social media platform is full of K-pop goodies and we’ve put together a list of types of posts you’re sure to come across while perusing the site.

First on the list is none other than fanfics. For those of you who don’t know, these are fictional stories featuring our favorite stars. Within fanfics, there are many different collections. Some authors choose to write it from the point of a view of the reader so you can fill in your name (written as Y/N) and imagine the storyline. Some have fictional characters. And of course, there are some that feature popular shippings and pairings!

All of these can be short drabbles or series. They can take place in real time and real situations or alternative universes or even as different species, you name it. There are also genres in varying degrees so you can find exactly what you’re in the mood for, whether it’s mild angst or super fluff. You would not believe how many dedicated writers are out there (and just as many loyal and thankful readers)! These are also a fandom favorite where admins of accounts use their knowledge of the idol and describe what their reaction would be to a particular situation! These can come as a text post, but most often are accompanied with GIFs.

When I first encountered these, I had to do a double take because they are SO realistic. Fake snapchats are always enjoyable because they remind us that our favorite K-pop idols are also teens that like to have fun with apps. I can’t help but think that somewhere out there they are also sending these types of snaps to people!

Fan art is a classic and also a favorite by idols. It’s a great way to show your appreciation and demonstrate your talent. Not to mention, they make great gifts!

It’s no surprise that we identify with quotes and scenarios happening in the dramas we are watching. There are many collections of screenshots or GIF sets out there on Tumblr of memorable and relatable scenes. Check out some of these collections that were made from fan favorite dramas.

This is your most convenient way to find out where your favorite idols are. As we all know, their schedules can be jam-packed and they are headed to the airport every other day. While most of us may board a plane in sweats and a tee, idols know that airport fashion is essential and that the crowds will definitely be there to snap their picture as they arrive so they must be dressed to the nines. You can often find these outfits will be accessorized with at least a small carry on bag, sunglasses, a cold mask, or all of the above.

A recent trend that compiles a selection of photos of members and situations where you click and drag to see who you get. These are often made to appear like a storyboard and can be very entertaining. They are very interactive and let our imaginations run wild.

Last, but not least, of course I have to mention GIFs. If any of you have ever made a GIF, you know that it takes time and precision. GIF collections pertaining to K-pop can range from music video scenes and modeling shoots to candid moments and bloopers. They can come in themes, sets of hashtags, and much much more. Regardless, we love them all!
