Watch: Yook Sungjae Struggles as an MV Director on “We Got Married”

BTOB’s Yook Sungjae realizes that its not an easy task to be the director for your wife on the latest episode of MBC’s “We Got Married.”

Faced with a mission to create a music video for their couple song “Young Love,” Yook Sungjae and his virtual wife, Red Velvet’s Joy, decide to split the roles into Joy as the actress for the music video and Yook Sungjae as the director. However, he soon finds that it is more difficult than first anticipated.

In one scene when they both sit on the bed, in order to make sure that he gets the right shot, he asks the assistant director to sit on the bed next to Joy. However, Joy is not comfortable with that. In his interview, Yook Sungjae says, “If you look at it as work, I need to monitor the shot. So I put Joy and the assistant director to sit on the bed together, but I realized that wasn’t the right choice. I was going back and forth between being the director and being her husband and in the end, I chose to be her husband.” That ends up being the right decision, as Joy reveals honestly in her interview, “He shouldn’t have sat the director next to me.”

Sungjae faces more difficulties when he transitions into another role to act alongside Joy. In one scene outside in a park, he tells Joy, “This is an innocent concept. You can’t be sexy. Don’t be tempting.” They then go into the acting for the scene, where he gets upset at Joy and sits pouting with his lips out. Joy then squeezes both his cheeks as she leans forward for a kiss. Taken aback, Yook Sungjae blurts out “NG! You have to be innocent! You can’t try to kiss me at this age!”
