KBS and SBS Both Claim Ownership of Much-Anticipated Drama, Drama Responds

After two networks claimed to be preparing to air the drama “Incarnation of Envy” (working title) later this year, representatives from the show have stepped in to explain the situation.

On April 19, it was reported that both KBS and SBS were claiming that they were producing the show “Incarnation of Envy.” A source from KBS’s drama department told TV Report, “Our position has not changed. We’re planning to air it as a Wednesday-Thursday drama after ‘Uncontrollably Fond’ finishes, and are in negotiations.”

However, representatives from the drama clarified the matter later that day by stating in an official release, “After discussion with SBS, the drama will be airing in the middle of August as a new Wednesday-Thursday drama.”

They go on to say, “We were originally in talks with KBS about them airing ’Incarnation of Envy.’ However, as our schedules for broadcast and production did not match up, we’ve decided on SBS as the broadcasting network and are preparing for its production.”

“Incarnation of Envy” is set in both a newsroom and an old, rundown villa, and tells the story of the love that develops between a news reporter and a weather forecaster. It is written by Seo Sook Hyang, who has penned shows such as “Pasta” and “Romance Town.” Gong Hyo Jin and Jo Jung Suk’s names have long been attached to the project, and many fans are eagerly hoping for confirmation that they’ll be taking the roles.
